Reach, rest, re-regulate

I did not manage to write a post last Friday. There were two interrelated reasons for this: Firstly, we were very busy (both at home and out!) and secondly, we were recovering from being busy.

The last few weeks have been incredibly successful for us, and that comes at a cost. For a while now we have spoken about buying a campervan, and this summer we found ourselves in the fortunate position to make this happen. The boys were super excited, and engaged in online research with me, and accompanied me to visits to view different vans. Twin 2, who h as struggled with leaving the house for so long, was leading ten way - it was amazing to see! But it wasn't without its fallout. The travel and interaction was exhausting for both boys; we had to deal with a panic attack mid viewing, and cancel some trips last minute. However...we did it! We have not secured scamper yet, but when we do I will post a photo 😊

I hope this will give us all the security and motivation to get out more this autumn. I recognise my boys need "a home from home" - a safe place to retreat to when in public - and I am excited about freedom this will (hopefully) provide us.

This weeks small wins:

  • Boys are engages in excited in something

  • We have left the house 5 times this summer now!

  • We successfully manged two home visits from CAMHS...and spoke!

  • We went on a day out for mummy's birthday, accompanied by our new carer

  • Both boys have managed panic attacks in public...and gone out again afterwards

  • I have managed both boys having panic attacks in public....and not rushed them straight home
